Kooey Australia Design Team Profiles Nikki Silverthorne Director/Designer The driving force behind Kooey's success since its official launch in 2008, Nikki has combined her love of fashion with her business savvy to establish Kooey as an internationally recognized brand. Using her business background, Nikki has directed the brand into a leading swimwear label having shown at Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Swim in Miami, Rosemount Australian Fashion Week and New York Fashion Week events. As well as forging partnerships with the Miss Universe Organization and charity, ToyBox International. Not only a talented business woman, Nikki also co-designs for Kooey, creating cutting edge and on trend styles inspired by Australia's landscape and rich culture. Charlene Harmer General Manager/Designer Managing the brand on a day-to-day basis, Charlene is the go-to-girl for everything Kooey. Having been with the company since 2009, she has worked to establish the company in Australia, the US and the UK. Charlene has helped to develop the brand by producing local and international events, runway shows, trade shows and acting as producer on the campaign shoot each season. Charlene also oversees the growth of the company through production and sales. Co-designing alongside Nikki each season, her fashion-forward and Australian inspired designs have walked the catwalk from Sydney to Miami to Los Angeles. Anne Hanning Print Artist As Kooey's print artist since 2009, Anne's unique dot-art designs have set Kooey apart from other swimwear on the market. An Indigenous Australian artist from Central Australia, Anne has created a contemporary signature style which echoes her interpretation of the Australian country and culture. Anne's passion for art, design and fashion and her research in these fields led her to identify areas where contemporary Aboriginal art and design could be fused with high-end fashion. Unleashed through her work for Kooey and their vision for making quintessential Australian swimwear, Anne's prints drive a new identity for culture and fashion.
